Spring is in full bloom and we are going gaga over bright colors and everything baby! We've been cleaning up our drive space and the whole process ended up taking twice as long because we'd stop and reminisce about past sessions. In doing so, we realized two things. First, digital spring cleaning is just as intense as getting on your hands and knees to scrub those hard-to-reach places. Second, we photograph A LOT of darling newborns! So many beautiful babies that we had to post this blog to share with you a fraction of the cuteness.

People always ask me why I love photographing newborns so much. The short answer is...because they are tiny and squishy and smell so good! Besides the obvious though, I think it's because there is so much bewilderment in newborn photography. Babies are little and precious and will never look like that again. I get the opportunity to photograph newborns in this small window of time where you see everything about them and at the same time know nothing at all. You're surrounded with wonder. Who are they going to be and what will they look like? But when you look back at photographs of your newborn baby you realize that all of the answers are present at birth...you just didn't know it yet.
...but mostly because they are tiny and squishy and smell SO GOOD!
